At PCFA, we always believe that learning never stops. Developing players starts with developing coaches, which is why we are always looking for ways to improve the quality of training we provide for our players.
This week, a couple of our coaches attended Mike Phelan’s Coaching Masterclass, a great opportunity to learn from someone with experience at the very highest level of football.

Learning from Elite Experience
Mike Phelan is well known for his time at Manchester United, where he worked alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and played a key role in coaching some of the biggest names in world football.
During his time at the club, he worked with players such as:
Cristiano Ronaldo
Wayne Rooney
Ryan Giggs
Paul Scholes
Rio Ferdinand
Nemanja Vidić
Learning from someone who has been involved in elite football environments gives coaches valuable insight into standards, preparation, mindset and player development.

Bringing Ideas Back to Grassroots Football
While grassroots football and professional football can be very different environments, the core principles remain the same:
Good habits
Strong discipline
Positive attitude
Quality coaching
Enjoyment of the game
Continuous improvement
Our coaches came away with fresh ideas, new perspectives and valuable lessons that can be brought into our training sessions at PCFA.
Why Coach Development Matters
Parents often focus on player development, but coach development is just as important.
When coaches continue to learn, players benefit from:
Better training sessions
New practices and ideas
Improved communication
Higher standards
A more positive learning environment
At PCFA, we want to create the best possible experience for every child who trains with us.
We are proud to invest time into improving our coaching team so that we can continue raising standards across the academy. This includes opportunities such as Coach Adrian completing an internship at Middlesbrough FC, as well as Coach Tomasz earning his UEFA C qualification.
Our Commitment at PCFA
We are proud to invest time into improving our coaching team so that we can continue raising standards across the academy.
Football is always evolving, and so are we.
A big thank you to Mike Phelan for delivering an insightful masterclass, and well done to our coaches for continuing to develop themselves for the benefit of our players.
